As part of Micron's Enterprise Master Data (EMD) – Material team, the Senior Data Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable material master data that supports global supply chain operations.

Role Overview: In this role, you will own material master data, while also driving transformation initiatives that improve data quality, process efficiency, and system integration across TeamCenter, SAP and adjacent platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and IT) to design and implement robust, scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Material Master lifecycle (creation, maintenance, governance, and retirement) across Teamcenter, SAP and integrated systems
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and audit controls within the Material domain
• Monitor, analyze, and drive improvements in data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
• Identify and lead transformation opportunities (automation, standardization, simplification), and drive them through design, build, and deployment
• Partner with IT and business teams to define requirements and deliver scalable master data solutions (S/4HANA, Informatica, integrations)
• Conduct root cause analysis on data issues, and implement sustainable fixes (not just corrections)
• Document and optimize business processes, workflows, and controls to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time
• Support audit readiness and compliance, ensuring strong control frameworks in material data processes
• Enable downstream processes such as BOM, MRP, planning, procurement, and manufacturing execution through high-quality material data
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in Enterprise Master Data, primarily within the Material domain (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or equivalent), including managing engineering-to-material data flows such as BOM structuring, ECR/ECN/ECM processes, and CAD-to-material integration
• Experience supporting Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, or Engineering processes
• Exposure to S/4HANA migration or transformation programs is a strong advantage

Tools & Skills

• PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter or equivalent) – integration with engineering data
• SAP MM (Material Master) – functional expertise (views, lifecycle, dependencies)
• Informatica (IDMC / Product 360) – Optional - experience in MDM platforms and data governance workflows
• Advanced Excel / Data Analysis – data validation, reporting, and insights
• Business Process Management – process design, documentation, and optimization
• Requirements Gathering & Solution Design – translating business needs into scalable solutions
• Strong analytical thinking with focus on data quality, controls, and continuous improvement
