Technical Lead – Algorithm Developer
Location: Bangalore , Chennai & Mumbai.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Algorithm Developer to drive the design, development, and production deployment of advanced 3D image reconstruction algorithms for next-generation X-ray inspection, metrology, and computational imaging systems. The role combines deep technical expertise, architectural ownership, hands-on algorithm development, and technical leadership to deliver high-fidelity volumetric reconstruction with strong accuracy, throughput, and robustness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and optimization of 3D reconstruction algorithms from concept through production deployment.
- Develop and improve tomographic reconstruction techniques for CT, XCT, and cone-beam CT, including analytical, iterative, model-based, and AI-assisted methods.
- Build algorithms for projection preprocessing, calibration, denoising, artifact correction, reconstruction, registration, segmentation, and volumetric analysis.
- Combine physics-based modeling, inverse-problem optimization, computer vision, and deep learning to improve reconstruction quality and system performance.
- Optimize large-scale 3D reconstruction pipelines for GPU, multithreaded, and high-performance computing environments.
- Define validation methodology and quality metrics using simulation, laboratory, and production datasets.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, applications, and product teams to translate customer needs into scalable algorithmic solutions.
- Mentor algorithm engineers, conduct technical reviews, establish engineering best practices, and contribute to the technology roadmap.
- Drive innovation through prototypes, patents, publications, and differentiated production capabilities.
Key Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline; a bachelor's degree with substantial relevant industry experience may also be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in algorithm development, computational imaging, image processing, computer vision, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing 3D image reconstruction or tomographic imaging algorithms.
- Proven experience delivering production-quality reconstruction algorithms for X-ray CT/XCT, cone-beam CT, microscopy, medical imaging, industrial inspection, or semiconductor metrology systems.
- Hands-on expertise with analytical and iterative reconstruction techniques such as filtered back projection, Feldkamp-Davis-Kress, ART, SART/SIRT, and model-based iterative reconstruction.
- Experience solving inverse imaging problems using numerical optimization, regularization, statistical estimation, compressed sensing, or Bayesian methods.
- Experience with projection-domain and image-domain corrections including detector calibration, denoising, ring and streak artifact reduction, beam-hardening correction, and motion or alignment compensation.
- Experience with large volumetric datasets, 3D registration, segmentation, feature extraction, defect analysis, and quantitative metrology.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python; MATLAB or equivalent scientific prototyping tools are beneficial.
- Experience with CUDA/GPU computing, parallel processing, multithreading, or high-performance computing.
- Strong foundation in linear algebra, numerical methods, optimization, probability, statistics, signal processing, imaging physics, and 3D geometry.
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, ITK, VTK, CUDA, or equivalent scientific and imaging libraries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with semiconductor inspection, metrology, defect review, or advanced manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of X-ray imaging physics, detector behavior, acquisition geometry, system calibration, and numerical simulation.
- Experience applying deep learning to reconstruction, denoising, super-resolution, segmentation, or artifact reduction using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with point-cloud processing, surface extraction, mesh generation, multi-modal registration, or 3D visualization.
- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, owning architecture decisions, and coordinating cross-functional delivery.
- Patent filings, peer-reviewed publications, or recognized innovation in reconstruction, imaging, or computational methods.
